Date a Live anime is based on Koshi Tachibana’s light novel series. Fujimi Shobo published it with Tsunako’s illustrations from 2011 to 2020 and has a total of 22 volumes. The anime adaptation started in 2013 by studio AIC+, followed by a second season by Production IMS in 2014, and then a third season by J.C. Staff in 2019; Keitaro Motonaga directed all of it. Meanwhile, Season 4 was animated by GEEKTOYS in 2022 and was directed by Jun Nakagawa.
