Dekin no Mogura Manga Gets Anime Adaptation

Dekin no Mogura, the supernatural comedy manga by Natsumi Eguchi, has announced that it is getting an anime adaptation set to air in July 2025. A visual and teaser trailer has been released, with Yuichi Nakamura revealed as the voice of the titular character Mogura. Hiroshi Ishiodori is directing the anime at Brain’s Base.

The Dekin no Mogura website describes the plot of the anime:

“I can’t die because I’ve been banned from the afterlife.” Certain circumstances lead Mogura, a dubious self-proclaimed hermit, to collecting the “light” of spirits in a lantern in the hope of being allowed to pass on. It’s said that those who encounter him begin to see strange things…

Shinzo Fujita is in charge of the series composition, Yoko Tanabe for character designs, and Tomoki Hasegawa for music composition.

Dekin no Mogura anime – Teaser Visual

Dekin no Mogura (The Banned Mole) is a manga by Natsumi Eguchi, who also wrote Hozuki’s Coolheadedness. It has been serialized by Kodansha’s Morning magazine since April 2021 and currently has a total of seven volumes. Dekin no Mogura follows the story of Mogura, a mysterious wanderer claiming to be a hermit. One day, he finds himself unable to leave the mortal realm.
