Dekin no Mogura: The Eartbound Mole anime revealed a new key visual and trailer, along with confirming a July 7 premiere date. The anime was announced in November 2024, with studio Brain’s Base handling the animation. Crunchyroll also confirmed that it will stream it.
Yuichi Nakamura was previously revealed as the voice of the main character Mogura, while three new voice cast members were announced today:
- Ayumu Murase as Kyoshiro Nekozuku
- Shunsuke Takeuchi as Toshiro Nekozuku
- Atsumi Tanezaki as Kyoko Nekozuku
The official website describes the story:
“I can’t die because I’ve been banned from the afterlife.” Certain circumstances lead Mogura, a dubious self-proclaimed hermit, to collecting the “light” of spirits in a lantern in the hope of being allowed to pass on. It’s said that those who encounter him begin to see strange things…“
Natsumi Eguchi writes and draws the Dekin no Mogura: The Earthbound Mole (also known as The Banned Mole) manga series. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Morning magazine in April 2021, with nine volumes released as of April 23, 2025. The main anime staff includes:
