Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Chronicles 2 has released its fourth trailer, confirming Muzan as a playable character along with an Infinity Castle DLC. The Japanese launch is set for August 1, 2025, with a global release scheduled to follow on August 5. Players who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will gain early access on the same day as the Japanese launch.
The game will cover the Entertainment District Arc, Swordsmith Village Arc, and Hashira Training Arc, while also including characters from the original game and prior downloadable content.
Kibutsuji Muzan Confirmed as Playable Character in Versus Mode
Kibutsuji Muzan will become a playable character in Versus Mode as part of a free post-launch update. This version of Muzan is based on his Asakusa appearance and has been adapted for combat gameplay.
Paid DLC: Infinity Castle Arc Chapter 1 Character Pass Also Announced
A new paid DLC, the “Infinity Castle Arc Chapter 1 Character Pass,” will introduce characters from the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Arc Chapter 1: Akaza’s Return storyline to Versus Mode. The movie premiered in Japan on July 18 and is on pace to set historic records after earning over 12.8 billion yen in the first 10 days.

The sequel builds on the original Hinokami Chronicles with updated combat systems and enhanced single-player modes.
- Solo Play Mode: Players can experience the storylines of Tanjiro Kamado and the Demon Slayer Corps from the Entertainment District, Swordsmith Village, and Hashira Training arcs, with the main battles against Upper Rank demons.
- Versus Mode: More than 40 characters will be available, including all nine Hashira, Upper Rank demons such as Gyokko and Zohakuten, and returning characters from the first game.
Earlier updates also revealed that Kyojuro Rengoku and Tengen Uzui will be added as playable characters in their Kimetsu Academy teacher forms. In the comedy spin-off, Rengoku is a history teacher while Uzui is an arts teacher. The pair were shown using a Dual Ultimate together.
