Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Chronicles 2 has revealed the third main trailer, introducing some new features and more gameplay. The sequel game also confirmed an August 5 global launch for the PlayStation, Steam, Xbox, and Switch. Players who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will get up to 5 days of Early Access, matching the Japanese August 1 release date.
The sequel will build on the previous title with new story content, a bigger character roster, and new gameplay mechanics. It will cover the Entertainment District Arc, Swordsmith Village Arc, and Hashira Training Arc and include all nine Hashiras, the original 18 characters from the first game, demons from previous updates, and paid DLC characters from the Entertainment District Arc.
New Demon Slayer: Hinokami Chronicles 2 Features Including Dual Ultimate and Gear
A new Training Paths mode allows characters to train under Hashiras in a progression-based grid, unlocking rewards and improving mastery. The game also introduced a gear system, letting players equip passive abilities that will help in both Story and VS modes.
Combat has been further updated with Dual Ultimate Arts, triggered by specific team combinations (e.g. Tanjiro and Rengoku), and some characters now have access to a second Ultimate Art, giving players the ability to choose their preferred one.
In addition to the expanded roster of over 40 fighters, including all nine Hashira and several new Upper Rank demons, the game also features a new story mode, The Path of a Demon Slayer, which revisits scenes from the first game. Solo play also shows exploration upgrades, such as Tanjiro’s scent tracking and Zenitsu’s hearing abilities.
Players will also be able to create a unique Slayer ID, customizing it with collected profile photos, quotes, titles, and decorations. You can watch the new trailer below:
