Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Movie 1 – Akaza’s Return has announced a light novel adaptation, set to release in Japan on July 22. The novel will be written by Aya Yajima, who previously wrote three novels for the franchise. It will run for 240+ pages and include 4 color illustrations, also crediting Hikaru Kondo from ufotable for the script.

The movie will premiere in Japan on July 18, recently revealing the first trailer and a new visual. It quickly went viral, with the trailer getting over 40 million views within the first 24 hours.

The synopsis for the novel is described:

Muzan Kibutsuji appears at the Ubuyashiki estate, headquarters of the Demon Slayer Corps. Tanjiro and the Hashira rush to protect their master, but they are suddenly cast into a mysterious space by Muzan’s power. Where they land is none other than the demons’ stronghold, Infinity Castle. Thus, the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons begins.

The first novel by Aya Yajima was titled Demon Slayer: The Flower of Happiness, and it was published in Japan in February 2019. It focuses on Tanjiro and Zenitsu before they joined the Demon Slayer Corps. The second one was titled Demon Slayer: One-Winged Butterfly and released in Japan in October 2019, focusing on Shinobu and Kanae. The third light novel is titled Demon Slayer: Signs from the Wind and focuses on Sanemi Shinazugawa. It was released in Japan in July 2020. VIZ Media released all three in English in 2022.
