Demon Slayer Trending Online After Hashira Training Finale

Demon Slayer is the main talking point today and is trending online after an incredible finale for its Hashira Training arc. The Japanese hashtag for the title alone (#鬼滅の刃) has over 363k tweets at the time of writing. There are over 50 related hashtags also trending, including Rengoku, ufotable, Gyomei, Muzan, the movie trilogy, etc.

It’s worth noting that the episode is not yet officially out worldwide, though the Infinity Castle movie trilogy announcement helped build the hype. Fans can only hope Crunchyroll’s servers are ready as the episode is scheduled to release within the hour.

Ufotable once again animated the show and delivered an outstanding adaptation. The first episode had a 60-minute extended time-slot, just like the finale. Haruo Sozotaki returned to direct the Hashira Training arc after previously working on all of the other installments. Akira Matsushima also returned as chief animation director and character designer.

The anime still hasn’t covered the Final Battle Arc (Infinity Castle + Sunrise Countdown arcs).

The Hashira Training Arc begins with volume 16 of the manga. VIZ describes the story for it:
Tanjiro goes to see the Stone Hashira, Himejima, who intends to prepare him for the battles to come. The training to become a Hashira—a high-ranking member of the Demon Slayer Corps—is intense and demanding, and earning Himejima’s approval seems impossible, but Tanjiro won’t give up! Meanwhile, the demon lord Muzan continues to search for the location of Nezuko and Ubuyashiki.
