Destiny Unchain Online TV Anime Announced, Adapting VR Fantasy About Gamer Trapped as a Vampire Girl

Destiny Unchain Online: How I became the Crimson Devil has officially been announced for a TV anime adaptation.

The announcement was made alongside the launch of the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account and a commemorative illustration by manga artist Yachimoto, who adapts the series’ light novel into manga.

Written by resn, the series follows middle school gamer Ko Mitsuki, a highly skilled player known online as the “Head-Hunting Crimson.” After agreeing to test a next-generation full-dive VR game developed by his father, he is unexpectedly forced to spend three months inside the game due to a series of bugs.

To make matters worse, Mitsuki finds himself transformed into a vampire girl, unable to log out, and stranded in a remote forest at the start of the game. What begins as a disastrous beta test gradually develops into a fantasy adventure, with the protagonist eventually earning the title of the “Crimson Demon Lord.”

The original novel is currently being adapted into a manga by Yachimoto, which is serialized on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket platform. The manga’s 13th collected volume also released in Japan on August 7.
