The upcoming TV anime adaptation of Giant Ojo-sama (Giant Young Lady) is set to premiere in January 2027, with a new teaser visual and its main staff revealed. Studio Tatsunoko Production is in charge of the animation. The anime was announced in March 2025.
Based on the manga by Nikumura Q, the comedy follows Oriko Fujido, the daughter of an ultra-wealthy family who receives an entire city as a birthday present. Armed with a giantification drink created by her butler and scientist Dr. Sebastian, Oriko grows to enormous size to defend the city from invading threats, though she often causes just as much destruction herself.
The adaptation will be directed by Hiroshi Ikehata, whose previous credits include TONIKAWA: Over the Moon for You and Tearmoon Empire. Katsuya Oshima will serve as assistant director, with Yu Mitsuya handling series composition and scripts. Hajime Mitsuda is in charge of character designs and serves as chief animation director.
Giant Ojo-sama began serialization on Shogakukan’s Sunday Webry manga platform on July 30, 2021. The series was originally published as a webcomic on Shueisha’s Jump Rookie website on December 17, 2020. The first collected volume was released on November 12, 2021, and as of November 2025, the series has been compiled into eleven volumes. Volume 12 is set to release in Japan on August 10. Fujido Oriko, the daughter of a wealthy businessman, was given a “city” as a present on her fourth birthday. She nurtures and grows the city until one day, a giant enemy appears and threatens its peace. In the midst of the crisis, her butler, Sebastian, hands her a mysterious growth drink, leading to an unexpected transformation. A comedy series where the bigger things get, the more lovable they become.
