Discover the Awesome Cosplays of San Diego Comic-Con Malaga [Photo Gallery]

Conventions are a celebration of fandom, and San Diego Comic-Con Malaga was no different. Now, following our coverage of the different anime panels, we present to you the stunning cosplay we found at the Spanish four-day event.

This time, we went beyond the usual focus on anime: our lenses captured incredible costumes from video games, blockbuster movies, classic comics, hit series, and even unique, original steampunk cosplays. While most of the Spanish conventions focus on anime and manga, this event finally gave a myriad of fandoms a chance to shine, exploring a truly diverse range of franchises.

So, without further ado, join us for a visual recap that honors the best of pop culture, spanning all ages and genres!

Special Guests

Walking through the main hall, we met with Spanish cosplayer @geheichou as Link (Legend of Zelda) and Jingshi (The Apothecary Diaries). We also had a glimpse of him talking with fans!

Next to geheichou, we found designer, model, and cosplayer @yayahan as Maomao (The Apothecary Diaries), and as her original character, Empyrean Empress.

Thank you, Bandai Namco

When we reached the Bandai Namco exhibition booth, we met and talked with Italian cosplayer @leonchiro as Ambrus Romance, in promotion of the game The Blood of Dawnwalker. As you can see, we found the time to make a mini-shoot!

Guests, jury, and even part of Bandai Namco booth: Spanish cosplayers @talybb_cosplay and @darka_studio as Low and Alone from Little Nightmares. Talybb also performed as Maelle from Expedition 33.

Anime, always present

The essential classics in every convention: One Piece, Demon Slayer, Digimon, Uma Musume, Jujutsu Kaisen, and even a cute Sakamoto Days couple.

We start with cosplayer and model @miikkita_ as Nico Robin (One Piece).

These photos don’t do justice to @elelekam and his Mahoraga (Jujutsu Kaisen). More than 2 meters tall!

Uma Musume fans, we have something for you: El Condor Pasa, thanks to @rokzyzie. We found her making an early line!

What better way to show love than with cosplay? @reinaboquerona and his husband brought to life the Taro x Aoi couple from Sakamoto Days. Meanwhile, @mochi.kata.san and @kiwivick commemorated their love through famous One Piece antagonists, Crocodile and Doflamingo.

Closing the anime cosplays, @fertimore69, @gymbrotaku, and @super_choco_crespi delivered this amazing One Piece group cosplay based on the live action!

Star Wars: The presence of the 501st Legion

A major highlight was the sheer number of Star Wars cosplays. It was refreshing to see even functional robots going around the different halls—or even the troopers present at some Star Wars panels!

Special mention goes to @spanishgarrison, an altruistic organization that provided most of the fantastic cosplayers you’ll see in the photos below.

The classic comic universe

As must be the case in a San Diego Comic-Con edition, the comic cosplayer community was present through performances of their favorite Marvel, DC Comics, and Invincible characters.

Surprisingly, we also found steampunk-inspired versions of comic characters. Could you find them in the following photos?

Passion for video games

Video games are part of our childhood—and you may have invested hundreds of hours in them. Accordingly, walking through the halls, we met many video game-inspired cosplays. Special mention to the Fallout cosplayers, who happened to be at the event without prior organization.

A celebration of pop culture

We can’t end the gallery without including the incredible cosplays inspired by popular movies, books, online series, and even entirely original characters. Ultimately, if you’re passionate about a fictional character, San Diego Comic-Con Malaga was the perfect opportunity to step into their shoes.

Could you recognize all the characters? Don’t forget to let us know in the comments section.

Stay tuned for our coverage of future conventions!
