The Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation anime revealed the voice cast for Season 1 along with a first look at the show. There are already 3 confirmed seasons for the anime, which will stream exclusively on Disney+ (Disney Plus). Season 1 set to release in October 2025.
The Season 1 voice cast is reprising their roles from the game and includes:
- Natsuki Hanae as Riddle Rosehearts (Heartslabyul dorm leader)
- Seiichiro Yamashita as Ace Trappola
- Chiaki Kobayashi as Deuce Spade
- Ryota Suzuki as Trey Clover
- Tatsuyuki Kobayashi as Cater Diamond
- Mitsuru Miyamoto as Dire Crowley (headmaster)
- Noriaki Sugiyama as Grim (monster companion)
The anime will cover the first three manga adaptations, with each of the seasons sharing their names:
- Season 1: Episode of Heartslabyul
- Season 2: Episode of Savanaclaw
- Season 3: Episode of Octavinelle
Studios Yumeta Company and Graphinica will be in charge of the animation, with Shin Katagai as the director. The rest of the main staff includes Takahiro Natori as chief director, Yoichi Kato on the script, and Hanaka Nakano and Akane Sato as character designers. The first image features the “Dark Mirror,” which assigns students to one of the seven dorms.
Yana Toboso, the original creator of the Black Butler manga series, is credited for the character design, concept, and scenario for the Disney Twisted-Wonderland game, which was created by Aniplex and Walt Disney Japan. The game was released in Japan on March 18, 2020, while the English localization followed on January 20, 2022.
VIZ Media licensed the first manga adaptation in English as Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Manga – Book of Heartslabyul, describing its story:
Yu is whisked away to Night Raven College, an arcane academy in the world of Twisted Wonderland. Stranded until he can find a way home, Yu is allowed to stay on campus despite having no magic of his own. But when his new friends land him in trouble with the headmage, his future at the school looks bleak. Now Yu’s fate hinges on bringing together a pair of argumentative first-years and a fire-breathing monster cat…
The fourth manga adaptation covering the Episode of Scarabia will release its first volume on February 27.
