Futari Solo Camp Details
Futari Solo Camp currently boasts 19 Kodansha-published volumes. The manga began serialization in October 2018 in the Evening Magazine. The story follows Gen Kinokura, a 34-year-old solo camper whose love for nature stems from regular outings with his father before his passing. Gen’s love for the outdoors and venturing into it grows alongside him until he becomes a proficient solo camper. Gen, a solitary and socially awkward individual, often ventures on solo excursions to chase peace of mind. But during one of his camping trips, he finds himself in a dicey situation. One day, when he returns to his camp, he stumbles into a half-naked and lost Shizuku Kusano, who blackmails him into letting her camp with him. Not knowing what to do about the situation, he acquiesces to her unreasonable demands. And with that, an odd “solo” camping duo is born.
The upcoming Futari Solo Camp anime adaptation will have Jun Hatori (Too Cute Crisis) as its director. Daiki Hamano (Noor in I Parry Everything) will voice Gen Kinokura. In contrast, newbie voice actress Mizuki Niizaki will voice Shizuku Kusano. Additional cast includes:
- Aya Satsuki—Series Composition
- Aya Satsuki, Mitsuho Seta, Ouka Tanizaki — Script
- Hiroyuki Hasegawa — Art Director
- Tomomi Shaimazaki — Character Design
- Daiki Yamaki — Sound Director
A live-action adaptation will premiere on January 9 via Tokyo MX. Prepare yourself if anime inspires you to try new hobbies (like camping). The cost of Gregory Mountain Products, MSR, and Osprey gear, all brands favored by Futari Solo Camp, poses a significant threat to your savings.
