Japanese rock band Galileo Galilei collaborated with Ai Kayano (Meiko “Menma” Honma’s voice actress) in performing “Aoi Shiori,” the opening song of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day on THE FIRST TAKE YouTube channel. This is the first time both artists appeared on the popular channel that features musicians and singers performing songs in a single take.
Galileo Galilei is a Japanese rock band from Hokkaido and is composed of singer and guitarist Yuki Ozaki, guitarist Sohei Funaya, bassist Hitoshi Sako, and drummer Kazuki Ozaki. The band was formed in 2007 and has performed theme songs for several anime series such as Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, Haikyu!! Second Season, Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, and Big Windup! Season 2. The band broke up in 2016 but they got back together in 2022.
Ai Kayano is a voice actress who started her career in 2010 and is well-known for voicing Meiko “Menma” Honma in Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, her first leading role. Since then, she played plenty of popular characters such as Mashiro Shiina in The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, Shiro in No Game No Life, Darkness in KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!, and Alice “Alice Synthesis Thirty” Zuberg in Sword Art Online: Alicization. The voice actress will return as Sylphiette in the upcoming sequel of Mushoku Tensei.
THE FIRST TAKE is a popular YouTube channel that shows various artists performing in one take. The channel has only one rule and that is artists need to perform their hearts out in a single take. Some of the artists who performed previously on the channel are ReoNa, LiSA, Aimer, Masayuki Suzuki, Sora Amamiya, Hoshimachi Suisei, and Rica Matsumoto.
