The Ganbatte Ikimasshoi novel was first published by Magazine House in 1996 before getting a reprint by Gentosha in 2005. The title first sprung a live-action film adaptation in 1998 titled Give it All. Itsumichi Isomura directed it with Rena Tanaka and Ren Osugi being some of the main cast members. It then had a live-action Japanese TV series, which was created by Kaneko Arisa and produced by Shigemitsu Keiichi. The live-action ran for 10 episodes from July to September 2005.

The series follows the story of an all-girl rowing team.

This is the latest directorial work from Yuhei Sakuragi, who had directed the original net animation adaptation of Niantic’s Ingress game, released in the fall of 2018. Other works from Sakuragi include Ashita Sekai ga Owaru toshitemo (2019), Artiswitch (2021), and Soutai Sekai (2017).
