Square Enix has announced a new smartphone game titled Gate of Nightmares, with the world-building and character design created by Edens Zero and Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima. The game will be available on both iOS and Android, but the release date and more details will be released later. You can check out the trailer for Gate of Nightmares below:
The main voice cast has also been revealed. Yuuya Hirose voices the main character Azel, Lynn voices Emma, and Atsumi Tanezaki voices Meruru.
In addition, Natsuki Hanae and Hiroki Yasumoto will also participate, though their roles will be revealed later.
Comic Natalie lists that Jin Fujisawa handles the scenario for the Gate of Nightmares game. He is known as the director of “Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Sky” and the original version of Dragon Quest X Online. The music for the game will be composed by Yasuharu Takanashi, who also worked on the anime “FAIRY TAIL” based on the story by Hiro Mashima.
The game is a traditional sword and sorcery fantasy set in the real world and Lemurias, a parallel world where people’s dreams mix and come true. On Lemurias, the monstrous creatures known as Nightmares are born out of people’s fear and torment. The story begins with the meeting of the girl Emma and the boy Azel. Emma is a nightwalker, trained to fight using Nightmares. Azel is a boy who seems to attract Nightmares towards himself.
