Kaiju No. 8 revealed a new “KAIJU HYAKKEI” (“Kaiju Showcase”) visual, this time featuring Gen Narumi, “Japan’s Strongest Anti-Kaiju Combatant.” This is the twelfth visual for the project, which includes a new visual on the 8th day of every month. The previous edition featured Kafka in his Kaiju form.
Gen was previously teased with a trailer and character visuals. You can see the new visual below:
The anime is set to premiere on July 19, while you can watch the teaser trailer below.
Kaiju No. 8 manga by Naoya Matsumoto began serialization in July 2020 on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ and has since been collected into 15 volumes as of this March. It was recently announced that it will end in two more chapters. Viz Media licensed it in English.
Season 1 of the TV anime adaptation by Production I.G ran for 12 episodes from April to June 2024. It was be shown in theaters along with the Hoshina’s Day Off bonus episode from March 28, 2025. Season 2 TV anime is also currently in production and set to premiere this July. We previously had the opportunity to talk with Masaya Fukunishi, Kafka’s Japanese voice actor, at last year’s Anime Expo, where he shared his experience voicing Kafka.
Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME is also set to launch later this year, with original characters and story confirmed to be included.
