Genshin Impact 2.7 Version Update Coming on May 31

Genshin Impact 2.7 version update is coming on May 31. The maintenance is expected to begin at 6 AM (UTC+8) and will last 5 hours. The 2.7 version was previously delayed on April 29, and the current version entered the third phase with extended Ayaka’s banner.

The special program was also announced and will be streamed on May 20, both on Twitch and the official Genshin Impact YouTube channel. The official art shows off Yelan and Itto, implying both characters will have a banner in the upcoming update.

According to a post by the Genshin Impact account on Twitter, 2.8 should be out on July 13:

The time remaining on current event banners will be adjusted to show the exact time left. There will be no changes to the end times of other in-game events. It’s also worth noting that Serenitea Pot maintenance will be over after the new update and that the players will finally be able to place new items. This is good news for those who currently do not have any characters in the Pot but would love to participate in the new Spices from the West event. which will last until June 7.

The official reason for the Genshin Impact version 2.7 delay was never given, but speculations implied that it was due to the COVID-19 lockdown in Shanghai, where MiHoYo headquarters are located.

Genshin Impact recently announced a new character, Shikanoin Heizou who is an anemo user. Heizou is a detective with the Tenryou Commission and it seems like his release date will be in version 2.8.
