Genshin Impact Version 2.7 Delayed, Reasons Not Listed

The upcoming Genshin Impact update (version 2.7) will be delayed, as announced on the official accounts for the MiHoYo’s game. The reasons for the delay have not been revealed, but it is worth noting that Shanghai, where MiHoYo headquarters are located, is currently under heavy lockdown due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

In the official announcement (below), the Genshin Impact staff is calling players to stay tuned for upcoming updates on new content and compensation.

Genshin Impact Version 2.7 Delay Announcement

Genshin Impact is currently on the 2.6 version, which is titled Zephyr of the Violet Garden. The update introduced Kamisato Ayato as a playable character of the 5* rarity, along with a new area called Chasm. The continuation of the Archon Quest with Dainsleif was set in the Chasm and it delivered some quite dark revelations. The later part of the update focused on an Inazuma-centric event that featured some fan-favorite characters from both Mondstadt and Liyue – Albedo, Klee, and Xingqiu. The second half of the update features an Ayaka banner, along with her signature weapon Mistsplitter Reforged.

The Serenitea Pot, which serves as an in-game housing system, went into maintenance mode at the beginning of the update. The maintenance still has not been finished. Spices From the West event that was supposed to utilize the Serenitea Pot system was also removed from the list of the upcoming events in the second half of the update.
