Gintama Author Draws "Sakata Days" Parody Cover Featuring Gintoki, Shinpachi and Kagura

Class 3-Z’s Ginpachi-sensei revealed a new trailer at Jump Festa 2025, but arguably a more interesting reveal came in the form of the SAKATA DAYS parody cover drawn by the Gintama author, Hideaki Sorachi. The cover features Gintama’s Gintoki Sakata, Shinpachi Shimura and Kagura dressed as the SAKAMOTO DAYS’ trio of Taro Sakamoto, Shin Asakura and Lu Xiaotang.

Tomokazu Sugita voices the protagonist in both anime adaptations.

The Gintama anime adaptation was animated by Sunrise until Season 4, which is when Bandai Namco Pictures took over. The anime has a total of 367 episodes, as well as numerous OVAs, movies, games, novels and specials. The latest installment was the Gintama: The Very Final movie, which premiered in 2021.
