CloverWorks and Atsushi Nishigori are teaming up on a new anime project, a movie tentatively titled GROTESQUE. The announcement was made at the studio’s industry panel at Anime Expo 2024, where they revealed a teaser trailer and 2025 premiere date for the anime movie.
GROTESQUE is the first project of JOEN, the creative partnership between CloverWorks, WIT Studio, Shueisha and Aniplex, which was formed in 2022. Details about the new project will be revealed at a later date.
Atsushi Nishigori is known as the director of DARLING IN THE FRANXX, for which CloverWorks was also involved in the production together with TRIGGER and A-1 Pictures.
