Haigakura is based on the Japanese manga of the same name by Shinobu Takayama. It was serialized in Ichijinsha’s Comic Zero Sum WARD magazine from January 2008 to May 2015. It was transferred to Zero-Sum Online in September 2015, where it is currently ongoing.
The story follows Ichiyo and his Divine Companion Tenko as they search for a dangerous god in a world where the pillars, four gods who once held up the world, have fled. After these gods abandoned their roles, the balance of the world began to crumble, and it became the duty of the kashikans to track them down and restore order. With personal motives driving their quest—Ichiyo seeking to reclaim a lost family and past—Ichiyo and Tenko embark on a journey across the world to prevent its collapse.
