Han So-hee Cast in Netflix's Solo Leveling Live-Action, Expected to Play Cha Hae-in Alongside Byun Woo-seok's Jinwoo

Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of the Solo Leveling webtoon has locked in another star. Han So-hee has been cast in a lead role and, according to Korean media reports, is expected to portray Cha Hae-in, Korea’s only S-rank hunter, alongside Byun Woo-seok’s Sung Jinwoo. The news was reported by South Korean Sports Kyunghyang on August 29.

The series follows Sung Jinwoo, humanity’s weakest hunter who gains the ability to level up after a near-death experience, eventually transforming into humanity’s strongest protector. Byun Woo-seok, who rose to fame with tvN’s Lovely Runner, was previously confirmed to play the protagonist.

Han So-hee, known for her performances in My Name and Gyeongseong Creature, has already proven herself in action titles. This makes her a natural fit for the role of Cha Hae-in, a fan-favorite character in the original webtoon and a crucial figure in the story. While the production has not yet formally announced her character, the Korean media reports strongly point to her taking on the role.

About Solo Leveling

The story began as a web novel titled Only I Level Up (나 혼자만 레벨업), written by Chugong (a pseudonym). It was serialized digitally starting in 2016 on the Korean platform KakaoPage.

In 2018, the novel was adapted into a webtoon (a digital comic format optimized for mobile reading) by REDICE Studio, a South Korean studio known for high-quality manhwa (Korean comics). The webtoon’s art was drawn by Jang Sung-rak, better known by his pen name DUBU.

The script was initially adapted to the webtoon format by Gi So-Ryeong (2018–2019), while h-goon took over from 2019 up until its end in 2023. Tragically, DUBU passed away in July 2022 due to chronic health issues.
