The upcoming anime Hanaori-san Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life has revealed its first teaser visual and trailer, along with the main voice cast and staff. The series is based on the manga by Pani Poni creator Hekiru Hikawa and is scheduled to air in 2026. The announcement was followed by comments from the lead voice actors and director, as well as the launch of the official website and social channels.
Synopsis:
Ryusei Narukami—occupation: shut-in NEET.
He spends his days holed up at home, endlessly gaming… but in another world, he
was once the Demon King!
One day, Meteor Hanaori appears before him—the Hero who defeated Ryusei long
ago and who is now living as an ordinary high school girl.
After reuniting with Meteor, Ryusei manages to reenter society, landing a job as a
high school teacher at Mikenshi Girls’ High School.
However, it turns out to be the very school Meteor attends!
Reincarnated into a peaceful world, the two meet once again—
and a new romance between a former Demon King and a former Hero begins!?
Studio LIDENFILMS is in charge of the animation, and you can watch the teaser trailer below.
Jun Fukuyama voices Ryusei, and Akira Sekine plays Meteor. Fukuyama described the anime as “a reincarnation rom-com full of mayhem” and said he’s excited for audiences to experience the banter between the characters. Sekine expressed her own enthusiasm, recalling how she recorded her audition “with a big smile the entire time.”
Director Hideyo Yamamoto said the series doesn’t fit neatly into a single genre but carries a unique energy that the team is working to preserve. He added, “Once you watch it, I’m certain you’ll be completely drawn into the world of Meteor and Ryusei.”
