Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills (Mushoku no Eiyu) anime announced an October 2025 release date. Studio A-CAT, which is currently working on the The Beginning After the End (TBATE) anime, will be in charge of the animation. The project was announced in October 2023, while the first cast and staff information was revealed in March.

Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?! (Mushoku no Eiyu: Betsu ni Sukiru Nanka Iranakattan da ga) is a Japanese light novel series by Shichio Kuzu, featuring illustrations by Yumehito Ueda. The story was originally published online through the Shosetsuka ni Naro website, running from November 2017 to May 2020. It later became part of Earth Star Entertainment’s catalog, with the company beginning its print release under the Earth Star Novel imprint in July 2018. To date, four volumes have been published.
There is also a manga adaptation illustrated by Akio Nanae, which debuted in November 2018 on Earth Star Entertainment’s Comic Earth Star website and has been compiled into nine volumes as of March 12, 2025. One Peace Books licensed the manga in English, describing the story:
In a world where everyone receives a Class and Skills at the age of ten, and where such revelations have a huge impact on one’s life, Arel, the son of Sword Princess Farah and Archmage Leon, learns that he has… no class at all!
