HoYoverse has confirmed that Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.0, titled “No Aha at Full Moon,” will launch on February 13. The update will mark the start of the Elation arc and introduce Planarcadia, a new world built around spectacle, attention, and entertainment.
Planarcadia serves as the personal playground of the Aeon Aha, and it is here that Trailblazers will take part in the Phantasmoon Games, a lawless competition where the goal is simple: attract the most attention. The winner earns an audience with Aha and the title of “Aeon for a Minute.” The arc will run over multiple updates throughout the year.
A major hub within Planarcadia is Duomension City, where residents coexist with creatures known as “imagenae.” These beings survive only as long as they remain relevant and noticed, fading away once forgotten. This concept drives the city’s obsession with entertainment and leads players to explore locations such as Dovebrook, Graphia Academy, and the hidden Tavern of Elation. The update also teases growing involvement from major factions, including the IPC, the Masked Fools, the Xianzhou Alliance, and the Stellaron Hunters.
Version 4.0 will also introduce a new combat mechanic centered on the Path of Elation. Battles now generate “Punchlines,” which can trigger Aha Instant, a special phase where Elation characters unleash chained abilities. Afterward, affected characters gain unique buffs called “Certified Bangers,” adding new layers to team-building and strategy.
Two new 5-star characters are debuting with the update:
- Yao Guang, a Physical Elation character from the Xianzhou Alliance, focuses on battlefield control through divination-based mechanics that manipulate Punchlines and trigger additional Aha Instants.
- Sparxie, a Fire Elation character and Planarcadia’s most popular streamer, introduces livestream-themed mechanics where Skill Points are spent as “Gifts,” turning audience engagement into raw damage output.
Limited 5-star characters Black Swan, Evernight, Hysilens, Sparkle, Cerydra, and Rappa will rotate through upcoming Warp banners, with Black Swan and Sparkle getting balance enhancements. Players logging in after launch will receive a 20-pull reward, a free new outfit for Ruan Mei, and access to additional Stellar Jade rewards through limited-time events.
The update is also bringing new activities and long-term content, including card-based battles in Cosmicon Collective, management-focused gameplay in Furbobo Weekly, and expansions to both Currency Wars and the Divergent Universe modes.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.0 launches February 13 on PC, iOS, Android, PS5, and the Epic Games Store.
