Hono no Toukyuji: Dodge Danpei is getting a TV anime adapting its sequel manga Hono no Tokyujo: Dodge Danko, coming over 33 years since the original anime aired in the 90s. Written and illustrated by Tetsuhiro Koshita, the original manga was serialized in Shogakukan’s CoroCoro Comic magazine from 1989 to 1995. Its anime adaptation was animated by Animation 21, running for 47 episodes from October 1991 to September 1992.
The sequel manga, Hono no Tokyujo: Dodge Danko, began serialization on the Weekly CoroCoro Comic website on November 28, 2022, and is currently ongoing. Its anime adaptation will release in 2026, coming over 33 years since the first anime ended.
