Inexpressive Kashiwada and Expressive Ota Announces Two Additional Cast

Inexpressive Kashiwada and Expressive Ota anime announced two additional cast members on Friday, along with character trailers and comments from the voice cast. Shiori Mikami is joining the series as Ota’s older sister, while Daisuke Kishio plays the role of Kashiwada’s older brother.

Shiori Mikami’s comment:
I’m Shiori Mikami, and I had the pleasure of voicing Ohta-nee. She’s a free spirit who loves to have fun, always teasing or dragging Ota-kun into things! I hope you enjoy her character!

Daisuke Kishio’s comment:
I’m Daisuke Kishio, playing the role of Kashiwada-ani, having been “demoted” from voicing Ohta (lol). Honestly, I felt relieved because having someone over 50 playing a lively junior-high boy is a bit painful to watch.… But wait, isn’t a man over 50 playing a gentle college student just as painful? Let’s pretend I didn’t hear that!
Kashiwada-ani is, through and through, a genuine siscon. He’s so straightforward about it that it’s actually refreshing and easy to get. Personally, I don’t have any sisters, so I don’t quite understand the feeling but I can’t help being just a tiny bit envious.

Studio Polon is animating the series set to premiere on October 4. The main voice cast of Inexpressive Kashiwada and Expressive Ota consists of:

  • Akane Fujita as Kashiwada-san
  • Kyohei Natsume as Ota-kun
  • Yuya Hirose as Tadokoro-kun
  • Sohei Horikane as Sata-kun
  • Yumiri Hanamori as Tabuchi-san
  • Mayu Mineda as Odajima-san

The anime is based on a manga by Fuyu Azuma. Book Walker Global describes the story as follows:
Kashiwada is a girl who never shows emotions on her face. Oota always tries to surprise her…but never succeeds.
Kashiwada and Oota are classmates at a junior high school.
Oota is always thinking of pranks to surprise Kashiwada, but he always fails. Kashiwada likes to look at Oota, for he shows his emotions on his face too much. They look like opposite type of people, but they both care about each other. “Look, Oota is up to something…” Other classmates love to see the unique relationship between them.
A heart-warming love comedy which takes place in an ordinary junior high school in Japan.
