DAN DA DAN Season 2 revealed the first trailer showing off Jiji’s transformation earlier today, and the video has already exceeded 2 million views in just about 7 hours. The season ended with quite the cliffhanger after Evil Eye’s appearance, so it will be interesting to see what exactly will happen in the cursed house.
The trailer currently has over 1.2m views on X (formerly Twitter), 640k views on the Japanese YouTube upload, with another 310k over on the English one.
Studio Science SARU is animating the show, with Fuga Yamashiro as the director. Hiroshi Seko in charge of the series composition and Naoyuki Onda as the character designer. Both Crunchyroll and Netflix are streaming the first season of the anime, and they both confirmed that they will stream the sequel. The main Japanese voice cast consists of:
- Natsuki Hanae as Jin ‘Jiji’ Enjoji
- Shion Wakayama as Momo Ayase
- Natsuki Hanae as Ken ‘Okarun’ Takakura
- Nana Mizuki as Seiko Ayase
- Mayumi Tanaka as Turbo-Granny
- Kazuya Nakai as Serpoian Alien
- Ayane Sakura as Aira Shiratori
The DAN DA DAN Season 2 key visual was revealed after the Episode 12 finale on Thursday, and you can check that out below as well.
Yukinobu Tatsu writes and draws the DAN DA DAN manga, which began serialization on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ service in 2021. The story follows a high school girl Momo and her classmate Ken Takakura. Momo comes from a family of spirit mediums, while Ken is a follower of the occult.
After their challenge went wrong, Ken (now known as Okarun) got cursed and ended up with yokai powers. They then met Aira who also ended up cursed, with Jiji being the latest addition to the gang (and it seems there’s a pattern there).
The anime topped has frequently ranked near the very top of our weekly rankings, topping them twice. We had to chance to interview both the Japanese and English voice cast members of DAN DA DAN. From the Japanese cast, we spoke with Shion Wakayama, the voice of Momo. Also present was the show’s director Fuga Yamashiro. As for the English members, we spoke to both Abby Trott and AJ Beckles, who voice Momo and Okarun, respectively.
