JIMOTO SAIKO Gets Anime Adaptation by Studio MAPPA

Written by Marko Jovanovic

MAPPA has announced an anime adaptation of JIMOTO SAIKO (working title), based on the manga by creator usagi. The series will stream exclusively on Netflix worldwide, with a teaser visual and trailer unveiled during the studio’s 15th anniversary presentation. Other announcements included new trailers for JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 4 and Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc, as well as anime adaptations of Fall in Love, You False Angels and BEAT & MOTION.

Originally serialized on social media, JIMOTO SAIKO follows the cheerful Chanel, a girl whose extraordinary lack of common sense repeatedly draws her into increasingly dangerous situations. Despite its cute character designs and comedic presentation, the series has become known for its dark and often unsettling portrayal of crime, violence, and life in a troubled hometown. The manga has released eight collected volumes through Saizusha.

Meanwhile, aiko, who is a fan of the series, shared her excitement about seeing JIMOTO SAIKO adapted into an anime. She praised how faithfully the teaser captures the manga’s atmosphere and said hearing “milk” was exciting.

The JIMOTO SAIKO anime is ‘coming soon’ exclusively on Netflix worldwide.
