JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run (Part 7) revealed the main staff at Anime Expo 2025, along with a special illustration. The anime was first announced in April at AnimeJapan with a teaser visual and trailer. Studio David Production was confirmed to be returning.

Kira Buckland (Jolyne Kujo), Keith Silverstein (Robert E. O. Speedwagon), and Mick Lauer (Leone Abbachio) attended the panel, where they also played video messages from the staff.

In the video messages, director Toshiyuki Kato commented that the horses will be the most difficult to adapt. Character Designer and Chief Animation Director Daisuke Tsumagari also drew a special illustration.

Hirohiro Araki began JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (JoJo no Kimyo na Boken) in 1987. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine until 2004, while it was transferred to Ultra Jump in 2005. The manga follows different protagonist with the nickname “JoJo,” and Part 9 is currently ongoing. They have been:

  • Phantom Blood (1987–1988)
  • Battle Tendency (1988–1989)
  • Stardust Crusaders (1989–1992)
  • Diamond Is Unbreakable (1992–1995)
  • Golden Wind (1995–1999)
  • Stone Ocean (1999–2003)
  • Steel Ball Run (2004–2011)
  • JoJolion (2011–2021)
  • The JoJoLands (2023–present)

Studio David Production has animated the first six parts, with the Stone Ocean anime releasing its final part in December 2022.

VIZ Media will release the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Part 7 – Steel Ball Run manga in English in Summer 2025. It’s the first part to be in a different continuity from Jonathan Joestar’s story, which ended with Jolyn in Part 6. VIZ describes the story for Steel Ball Run:
Riders from around the world gather in the Wild West for the race of the century! Johnny Joestar, a former jockey paralyzed from the waist down, comes to spectate, and momentarily regains the ability to walk while watching a duel fought by Gyro Zeppeli. Desperate to learn more about this power, Johnny joins the race alongside Gyro and embarks on the most epic and bizarre race to ever cross the American frontier!

The latest manga partThe JoJoLands, began in February 2023, focusing on “one boy’s path to millionaire status in subtropical islands.”
