Jujutsu Kaisen 0 to End Japan Theatrical Screenings on May 29

The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 anime film is poised to end theatrical screenings in Japan on May 29. As of this writing, the film has earned more than ¥13.6 billion in box office revenue and had an attendance of 9.71 million movie-goers in Japan.

“It has been 5 months since the release of the film, and I am surprised to hear that so many people are still coming to see the film. It is almost time for the theatrical run to end.”

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 premiered on December 24, 2021. It was released in North America on March 18, 2022. During its opening weekend in the US and Canada, the film earned US$17.7 million in box office revenue. As of this writing, the film has earned a total of US$154,456,056 worldwide; with US$29,693,448 of the revenue coming from the United States, according to data from Box Office Mojo.

The film was animated by studio MAPPA and directed by Sunghoo Park with Hiroshi Seko being the screenplay writer. The Jujutsu Kaisen franchise follows Yuta Okkotsu, a nervous high school student who enrolls in the mysterious Tokyo Jujutsu High School under the guidance of Satoru Gojo after being haunted by the curse of his childhood friend.
