You can read Geto’s voice actor, Takahiro Sakurai’s, comment below:

“Although this is called a compilation film, it’s crafted to be far more than just a recap of the TV series. It’s designed to let you experience the story through the characters’ eyes in a more vivid and powerful way. I believe viewers will feel that heightened perspective. Hidden Inventory / Premature Death captures a crucial part of their youth. It’s an essential chapter. I hope you’ll experience it on the big screen.”

The film is set to premiere in Japan on May 30, 2025, and serves as a re-edited theatrical version of the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death arc, which originally aired as the first five episodes of JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 2. The arc follows young Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto on a mission to protect Riko Amanai, the Star Plasma Vessel.

In addition to improved visuals and a new audio mix, the film will include a new Juju Stroll short anime, a comedic, slice-of-life mini-anime that typically accompanied TV episodes.

Also featured will be an acoustic version of “Where Our Blue Is” by Tatsuya Kitani, a version of the Season 2 opening theme, which appears in the latest trailer.

Studio MAPPA once again oversees animation production, with all original cast members returning.

North American Release and Anime Sequel

JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death is set for release in North American theaters on July 16, 2025, distributed by GKIDS in both subtitled and English-dubbed versions. This marks GKIDS’ first involvement with the franchise, following its acquisition of distribution rights through Toho International.

The film is leading up to the anime’s next arc: the Culling Game sequel, currently in production. The continuation will follow the events of Season 2, with only a teaser visual released so far. Additional details are still unavailable.

The JUJUTSU KAISEN manga concluded in September 2024 after six and a half years of serialization. It ended with a total of 30 volumes, the final two of which were released simultaneously in December 2024, with Volume 30 featuring a special epilogue.
