Jujutsu Kaisen released Episode 19 this Friday, and it showed some amazing animation for the action scenes! It started off with Fushiguro, Kamo and Inumaki fighting Hanami, and it took all the way until the 8th minute before the OP theme played. Inumaki ran out of strength first, and they almost got taken down, but then Maki arrived to save them. Her tagging up with Megumi was also great, though they were still no match for the Special Grade. Luckily Yuuji and Todo brothers arrived next, with a super hero landing at that.
Toudou immediately went to the sideline after they got Maki and Megumi out, and he told Yuuji he’d let him die if he didn’t manage to use Black Flash. Yuuji was fine with that, though he failed his first attempt due to anger. Nothing a few slaps couldn’t fix though, and his brother/best friend was there to deliver.
The next attempt was a great success, and the animation there was one of the highlights of the episode. The entire scene is hype as hell, and Hanami quickly realized that these two are dangerous. I also loved how Yuuji accepted the brother relationship and started using the term for Toudou. Their tag team was surprisingly good and surprised the Cursed Spirit, though Toudou is just about to get serious. Then again, Hanami also seems to have just found the fun in fighting, so it’ll surely get even more interesting!
The episode was probably my favorite this season, and I’m already excited for the next one! The title of episode 20 is “Nonstandard”, and it will premiere on February 26 (or 27 depending on timezone).
If you enjoyed episode 19, you can vote Jujutsu Kaisen as the best show on our weekly poll! And if you haven’t started it yet, the story goes:
Although Yuji Itadori looks like your average teenager, his immense physical strength is something to behold! Every sports club wants him to join, but Itadori would rather hang out with the school outcasts in the Occult Research Club. One day, the club manages to get their hands on a sealed cursed object. Little do they know the terror they’ll unleash when they break the seal…
The manga, written and illustrated by Akutami Gege, recently surpassed 30 million circulating copies (also including digital release)! It has been serialized since March 2018, which is a pretty short amount of time for such a big number. It will likely grow even more alongside the anime adaptation too.
