The theatrical compilation feature returns to the widely beloved “Hidden Inventory / Premature Death” story arc of the globally acclaimed Jujutsu Kaisen TV series, which focused on the younger days of fan-favorite characters Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, who shared a deep bond that was tested by one fateful mission. Featuring newly remixed sound for an immersive theater experience, this popular adaptation, which captivated audiences during its original broadcast, reaches new heights—bringing the powerful story back to the big screen.

The film will premiere in Japan on May 30, 2025, featuring an all-new acoustic version of Tatsuya Kitani’s “Where Our Blue Is,” which was previously used as the opening theme song for the television broadcast. It currently has over 100 million views on YouTube and over 200 million on Spotify alone. As with Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Toho had the distribution rights for Japan.

It’s worth noting that Crunchyroll and Funimation distributed Jujutsu Kaisen 0 in the U.S. in 2022. The switch for Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie follows Toho International’s acquisition of GKIDS last year, and forms a trend of Toho taking greater control of the distribution of its productions, seen again with My Hero Academia: You’re Next‘s North American distribution by Toho International last year. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures did, however, distribute the film in select overseas territories. The film recently got its streaming release on both Netflix and Crunchyroll last month.
