“Food Terror Is Coming”: Toho Animation Teases August 4 Mystery Anime Announcement

TOHO animation has begun teasing a new anime project, with the announcement scheduled for August 4 at 9:00 p.m. JST.

Ahead of the reveal, the studio will premiere a “special video” on its official YouTube channel at 8:00 p.m. JST. The announcement was accompanied by a teaser posted on X reading, “Food terror is coming,” alongside a countdown to the video’s premiere.

The teaser image and YouTube thumbnail both feature dishes such as yakisoba, spaghetti, and karaage, further suggesting the anime will be related to food.

TOHO animation is behind a number of major anime productions, including Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, My Hero Academia, The Apothecary Diaries, Kaiju No. 8, SPY x FAMILY, and Jujutsu Kaisen. The company previously did a mysterious reveal for its Though I Am an Inept Villainess anime.
