My Hero Academia Releases Eri’s Version of “Hero too” Song Following New Anime Short

My Hero Academia has released “Hero too -10th Anniversary version-,” performed by Eri across major music streaming platforms following the premiere of the franchise’s new anniversary anime short, I am a hero too. Singer Myka Morton performs the vocals for Eri’s version featured in the anniversary short.

The song debuted in the approximately six-minute special, which began streaming on August 2 internationally (August 3 in Japan). The short serves as part of the anime’s ongoing 10th anniversary celebration and is now available on multiple streaming services, including Netflix, Prime Video, Crunchyroll, and other platforms.

Originally introduced during the Pro Hero arc, “Hero too” was first performed by Kyoka Jiro during U.A. High School’s School Festival. The new version features Eri performing the song after the events of the main series.

I am a hero too focuses on Eri as she prepares for a musical performance while reflecting on the people who inspired her. This particularly includes Deku and Lemillion, who both played major roles in saving her from Overhaul and letting her live her dream.

The release continues My Hero Academia‘s 10th anniversary campaign, which has included new promotional artwork, events, and the recently announced My Hero Academia 10th Anniversary Shop: Top 10 Heroes, which features merchandise based on Kohei Horikoshi’s “World Best Hero” popularity poll illustration.

Kohei Horikoshi drew the My Hero Academia manga for Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from July 2014 until August 2024. The series ended last year after a 10-year run, getting numerous illustrations and messages for the conclusion. 

The anime adaptation first premiered in April 2016 and has since become one of the most popular modern shonen franchises worldwide. It concluded with Episode 170 on December 13, 2025.

Horikoshi is also returning to the magazine with a new 61-page horror one-shot titled Don’t Laugh, Shijima-san, marking his first one-shot since the conclusion of My Hero Academia. The manga will be published in the combined Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 37/38 on August 10.
