With 3 days until the JUJUTSU KAISEN compilation film Hidden Inventory / Premature Death premieres in Japan, a new visual and message from voice actor Takehito Koyasu (Toji Fushiguro) have been released.
The new visual features Toji Fushiguro, while Koyasu shared a comment on the character.
“It’s a great joy to be able to experience such excitement and emotion in theaters,” Koyasu said. “Toji Fushiguro feels to me like a man drawn in by fate, like a gemstone pulled in by some unseen force. He’s someone whose brilliance burned bright only for a moment before being consumed by it — a tragic past. But because of that, I want him to be remembered by someone. Maybe it’s selfish of me as the voice actor to wish for that. But he definitely lived. If this film helps bring him to life once more, even if just in memory, I’d be truly happy.”
This statement arrives just days before the film’s Japanese theatrical release on May 30, 2025. The compilation movie revisits the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death arc, which originally aired as the first five episodes of JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 2. The story follows young Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, showing their mission to protect Riko Amanai, the Star Plasma Vessel.
In addition to its re-edited footage and enhanced theatrical audio mix, the film will also feature a brand-new Juju Stroll mini-anime. Known for its comedic, slice-of-life style, Juju Stroll traditionally appeared at the end of TV episodes.
Fans will also hear an acoustic version of “Where Our Blue Is” by Tatsuya Kitani, a reinterpretation of the original Season 2 opening theme, which plays in the latest trailer.
The animation is once again handled by Studio MAPPA, with the original cast returning to voice their roles.
North American Release and Future Developments
JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death will be released in North American theaters on July 16, 2025, distributed by GKIDS in both subtitled and dubbed formats. This marks GKIDS’ first time handling a Jujutsu Kaisen title, following its acquisition by Toho International.
The compilation film also serves as a lead-up to the franchise’s next major anime installment: the Culling Game arc sequel. Currently in production, the sequel series will pick up where Season 2 left off. A teaser visual has already been revealed, though further details have not been revealed.
The manga, which concluded in September 2024 after six and a half years of serialization, ended with 30 volumes, the final two of which were released simultaneously in December 2024. Volume 30 featured a special epilogue.
