Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade Game Gets Opening Video by MAPPA, Theme Song by Eve

MAPPA produced the opening video for the first JUJUTSU KAISEN smartphone game Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade, and the video features the new song by Eve titled “Avant”Eve was in charge of the lyrics and music, while it was arranged by Numa. The game will release in 2022 for iOS and Android in Japan, and you can watch the opening video:

The game will have an original story supervised by Hiroshi Seko, who was in charge of the script and series composition for the 2020 TV anime. Eve commented “I made the song with a concept where it’d be connected to Kaikai Kitan”. They also revealed 3 original characters for the mobile game, and they are from the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School’s Fukuoka branch:

The previous JUJUTSU KAISEN theme song by Eve was the show’s very first opening song titled “Kaikai Kitan” and it reached huge numbers on YouTube. It currently sits at over 219 million views. The new song “Avant” by Eve for the JUJUTSU KAISEN mobile game is now also available on several music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and more.

Meanwhile, the JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 Movie will finally get its international release in about a week on March 18, and tickets are currently available for sale. It is a prequel focusing on Yuta and Rika, and it covers Volume 0 of the manga, which VIZ describes as:

Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem. His childhood friend Rika has turned into a Curse and won’t leave him alone. Since Rika is no ordinary Curse, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat Curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to confront the Curse that haunts him?

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2018, and it has 18 volumes as of December 25, 2021. The cover of volume 19 was also revealed, and it will release in Japan on April 4, 2022:

The new opening by MAPPA for the Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade game brings back Eve to the franchise, and we’ll look forward to an international release of that as well! In the meantime, you can read the manga on MANGA Plus or VIZ.
