KADOKAWA published its earnings results for the first quarter of its 2025-26 fiscal year, covering the period from April 1 to June 30, which largely overlaps with the Spring 2025 anime season. The Gorilla God’s Go-To Girl had the highest net sales under the Animation/Film category, followed by Once Upon a Witch’s Death and The Shiunji Family Children. Below, you can check out the full top 10 for anime-only net sales, followed by net sales for KADOKAWA’s titles overall. KADOKAWA earned 6,928 million yen ($34.9 million) from its animation business this spring, a 16.4% drop from the same period in 2024.

The above only considers money earned from the anime copyright, such as streaming revenue, anime merchandise, and money that went to KADOKAWA’s anime subsidiaries, such as Doga Kobo in the case of The Shiunji Family Children. The overall ranking of the top 10 best-selling titles for KADOKAWA, which includes sales from books, magazines, rights-licensing, anime and film sales, games, and other revenue streams, but excludes sales from non-consolidated subsidiaries (such as M12 Media (formerly J-Novel Club) and Yen Press), is below.
