Akatsuki Games has launched its latest content update for Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME, adding a new main story chapter, a new game-original 5-star character, multiple gacha events, and login bonuses to start the year.
The game’s Main Story Chapter 7, titled King of Kaiju Interception Ops, is now available. The chapter takes place in Dubai, where unexpected snowfall signals the appearance of a new Dimensional Gate. The story introduces Kaiju No. 6, described as “the King of Kaiju, from a parallel world, the very one that once brought about a devastating catastrophe upon this world.”
The new character is Wang Meixing, a CLOZER negotiator, who will play a central role in the new chapter. Manami Numakura voices the character in Japanese.

Wang Meixing is also playable as a new ★5 unit, armed with an assault rifle. The character is described as “a big name who has connections with the political and business circles. She serves as a negotiator, working to ensure that no political friction arises when implementing countermeasures against Dimensional Kaiju.” Her featured weapon, the AR-Gnijiluh, is also available.
Event and Gacha Overview
The update includes several limited-time gacha and event campaigns:
- 8 Free Pulls Daily Gacha: Available from December 26 through January 11, players can receive up to 80 free pulls across 10 days. This banner shares its character and weapon pool with the standard gacha.
- Pickup Gacha Reruns: Reno Ichikawa and [Limited] Sagan Shinomiya return, along with their respective weapons.
- Paid-Only ★5 Guaranteed Gacha: Guarantees at least one ★5 character or weapon, limited to two pulls per player.
- New Chapter Event: Players who progress through Chapter 7 can earn up to 1,500 Dimensional Crystals via Score Battles.
- Login Bonus Campaign: Available from January 1 JST, offering up to 10 Pickup Gacha Tickets and other in-game materials such as crystals and stamina items.

Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME is a free-to-play title with in-app purchases, available on iOS, Android, and Steam. It supports multiple languages including English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), and recently added French. More information is available at kj8-thegame.com.
Kaiju No. 8 Background
The game is based on Kaiju No. 8, a manga by Naoya Matsumoto, serialized on Shonen Jump+ from July 2020 to July 2025. As of September 2025, the series has surpassed 19 million copies in circulation across its 16 volumes. The anime adaptation aired its first season from April to June 2024, followed by a theatrical compilation in March 2025 and a second season that ran through September 2025. A ‘final chapter’ anime adaptation was recently announced.
