Kenichiro Matsuda Voices Bond in Spy x Family

Spy x Family has a new-old cast addition, as Forgers are welcoming a new family member: Kenichiro Matsuda who will be voicing the big fluffy white dog – Bond. Matsuda is also the narrator, which can be heard in most episodes.

The second cour of the anime began last Saturday and Anya got to meet a fluffy white dog with a mysterious and powerful foresight ability. Although he still doesn’t have a name in the anime, manga readers are familiar with Bond and he is already present in the opening. It’s worth noting that the next episode is titled “New Family Member.”

Kenichiro Matsuda’s name can be found in the credits of Spy x Family episodes 13 and 14, which mark the beginning of the second cour of the anime. However, he is credited as a “big white dog.” The voice actor is well known for voicing Bato in the Ghost in the Shell: Arise, but you may also know him as Gordon Agrippa in Black Clover, Thors Snorresson in Vinland Saga, or Mink in DRAMAtical Murder. He is active on Twitter, where he often posts anime-related content.

WIT Studio and CloverWorks are animating the series based on Tatsuya Endo’s manga. It was previously revealed that Spy x Family will have a total of 25 episodes. As the first part had 12, the second will have 13. The theme songs are:

  • Opening: BUMP OF CHICKEN – “SOUVENIR
  • Ending: yama – “Shikisai

The anime is based on Tatsuya Endo’s manga of the same name. The manga currently has over 26 million copies in circulation and has recently published its 10th volume. The plot follows a spy named Twilight who is forced to come up with a makeshift family to fulfill his mission. Viz Media licensed the manga in English and describes the plot as:

Not one to depend on others, Twilight has his work cut out for him procuring both a wife and a child for his mission to infiltrate an elite private school. What he doesn’t know is that the wife he’s chosen is an assassin and the child he’s adopted is a telepath!
