Director Yuzo Sato commented on the anime:

I am truly honored to be involved in the anime adaptation of Suikoden! The series’ grand world and richly diverse characters make for an incredible story, and I hope fans will enjoy it just as much in anime form. Our goal is not just to translate the game into animation, but to expand the world of Suikoden and introduce new layers of its appeal. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the original game or discovering Suikoden for the first time, we’re working hard to make this a series that everyone can enjoy. Thank you for your support!

The game is also getting a HD remastered version alongside Suikoden I, which releases on March 6. You can watch the launch trailer for the game below.

The story of Suikoden II

Steam describes the story of the second game:

Our story’s hero and his friend Jowy are members of the Unicorn Youth Brigade, which participated in a drawn-out border dispute between the Highland Kingdom and the City-States of Jowston .

A few months earlier, a truce agreement was signed between the two forces, both of which were happy to see an end to the fighting.

However, hidden under the momentary peace the fires of a new war continued to smolder…

A new Suikoden game – Star Leap

In addition to the Suikoden II anime, a new mobile game titled Suikoden: STAR LEAP was announced. Set in the same world as previous Suikoden games, it once again centers on the legendary 108 Stars of Destiny. The trailer features the theme song “Campanula” by Kaho Nakamura.
