Kunoichi Tsubaki TV Anime Reveals Opening Theme Song by The Peggies

The official Twitter of the upcoming In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki anime revealed the opening theme song performed by the all-female rock band The Peggies (stylized as the peggies). CloverWorks is producing the anime, which will begin broadcasting in April.

The Peggies’ opening theme song of the series is titled “Highlight Highlight”. The band also performed the opening theme songs of Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai and Rent-A-Girlfriend, as well as the ending theme songs for My Hero Academia Season 5 and Sarazanmai.

The TV anime In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki cast Yuuko Natsuyoshi as the main character Tsubaki. Takudai Kakuchi is directing the series at studio CloverWorks. Konomi Shugo is writing and supervising the scripts while Yuusuke Shirato is in charge of the music. Yousuke Okuda will serve as an animation director and character designer. The story is based on a manga by Souichiro Yamamoto.

The isolationist all-girls Akane Clan mainly consists of young kunoichi in training. Their teachings are strict and there is one rule they all must follow: Interacting with men is forbidden, as they are dangerous creatures. However, a trainee Kunoichi Tsubaki suddenly starts feeling strange… It’s like her heart flickers whenever the subject of boys comes up.
