  • Konomi Kohara as Sitri

Zero-G is animating the Let This Grieving Soul Retire anime with Masahiro Takata as the director. Hideki Shirane is in charge of the series composition while Yusuke Isouchi and Shingo Fujisaki are the character designers. Lezel is performing the opening theme song and Pmarusama is doing the ending.

The anime will adapt the Let This Grieving Soul Retire! Woe is the Weakling Who Leads the Strongest Party (Nageki no Bourei wa Intai Shitai: Saijiyaku Hanta ni Yoru Saikiyou Patei Ikusei Jutsu) light novel, which initially began as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Narou website in January 2018. Micro Magazine picked it up in August of the same year. A manga adaptation with art by Rei Hebino is currently ongoing on Kadokawa’s Kadokomi app.

J-Novel Club licenses the light novel series in English while Yen Press licensed the manga. JNC describes the plot as:
It’s the golden age for treasure hunters—adventurers hungry for wealth, fame, power, and glory, who risk their lives in treasure vaults throughout the world. “Let’s become treasure hunters.” Krai and his childhood friends swore to become the greatest of them all, but that dream should have died the day Krai realized he wasn’t cut out for the job! Yet expectations continue to mount, right along with Krai’s fear for his life. While his childhood friends climb closer toward their dream, this grieving soul has one simple wish: to pack it all in and retire!
