Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club special live stream announced on Thursday that the idol series is getting an OVA with a theatrical premiere scheduled for summer 2023 in Japan. A key visual was also released.
Aside from the OVA announcement, the special live stream also revealed a trailer for the upcoming TV anime Nijiyon Animation, a short spin-off of the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club series. The short anime is scheduled to premiere on January 6, 2023.
Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club is a spin-off project of Love Live! idol franchise. The first season premiered in October 2020 while the second season began airing in April 2022. Studio Sunrise animated both seasons with Tomoyuki Kawamura as the director. Jin Tanaka wrote the scripts while Takumi Yokota illustrated character designs. The cast of the series includes:
