The Maho Tsukai ni Narenakatta Onna no Ko no Hanashi (The Story of the Girl Who Couldn’t Become a Wizard) anime has announced additional cast members ahead of its premiere this October. Studio J.C.Staff is animating the series with Takashi Watanabe as chief director and Masato Matsune as the director. The additional cast for the anime are as follows:
- Hikaru Midorikawa as Northern Harris
- Mikako Komatsu as Kai Mirai
- Mako Morino as Club President
- Tatsumaru Tachibana as Club Vice President
- Saori Goto as Lemone Juicy
- Yuka Nukui as Mikana Fruity
- Sayumi Suzushiro as Sally Andol
Hiroko Kanasugi is writing the scripts for the Maho Tsukai ni Narenakatta Onna no Ko no Hanashi anime, with Mai Matsura designing the characters based on the original designs by Lily Hoshino. Yoko Shimomura is composing the music.
The Maho Tsukai ni Narenakatta Onna no Ko no Hanashi anime was first announced in October 2018 as part of the winning titles for the “Another World/Fantasy” category of Project Anima. It was initially slated for debut in 2021, but was moved to this year for unknown reasons. Previously announced cast members are:
- Hana Hishikawa as Kurumi Mirai
- Misuzu Yamada as Yuzu Edel
- Yui Horie as Minami Suzuki
- Ayumi Mano as Maki Kumil
- Yukiya Hayashi as Asuka Kurumaru
- Chiaki Kobayashi as Kyo Kurumaru
The anime is based on a web novel written by Yuzuki Akasaka, published by Everystar from March 2018 to September 2019. It was then submitted to Project Anima, an industry collaboration between DeNA, Sotsu, and Bunka Housou(JOQR) which accepts stories from the general public for potential anime adaptations.
The official anime website lists the series’ synopsis as follows:
Kurumi Mirai is a clumsy girl who longs to become a wizard,
and Yuzu Edel is the daughter of a noble family
that has been turning out wizards for generations.
To become a wizard, they must enter Rettoran academy of witchcraft and wizardry.
However, both couldn’t pass the entrance exam……, but⁉︎
Minami Suzuki, the looks of a child but great magician, appears as homeroom teacher, and their school life takes a sudden turn!
Mysterious classmate, strange club……What’s the secret hidden in this school⁉︎
