Mamoru Miyano Announces Divorce

Mamoru Miyano has gotten divorced from the woman he announced his marriage to in 2008, as reported by various news media outlets in Japan. Miyano also posted on his official blog, confirming the divorce himself. The details surrounding the reasons for their separation are not known, but Miyano’s agency stated, “for the sake of their future.”

Not much is known about Miyano’s family, as the first and only time he spoke about them in public was when he publicly announced his marriage in 2008 on his since-deleted official blog post. He also revealed in the same blog post that his wife was pregnant with their son at the time.

Mamoru Miyano is a voice actor from Saitama Prefecture, Japan. After being influenced by his older brother Shota to join his current agency, the Himawari Theatre Group, Miyano has lent his voice to a wide range of characters in the span of his 30 years in the voice-acting industry. Some of his most notable roles include Light Yagami from Death Note, Rintaro Okabe from Steins;Gate, Osamu Dazai from Bungo Stray Dogs, Death the Kid from Soul Eater, and many more. His prowess led him to be recognized as one of the most iconic voices among Japanese voice actors, with one of his recent awards being the Yahoo! Search Award 2023 in the Voice Actor category.
