MAPPA revealed the main visual and trailer for Shinichiro Watanabe’s Lazarus original anime, along with an April 6 premiere. The anime was previously confirmed for a total of 13 episodes, which will release on Adult Swim. With studio MAPPA in charge of the animation, Sola Entertainment producing.
The anime recently announced information on its opening and ending theme songs, which will be performed by Kamasi Washington and The Boo Radleys.
The new trailer shows Lazarus, the special task force of 5 agents from across the world which was formed to save all of humanity, in action. You can check it out below.
Besides Shinichiro Watanabe as the original creator and director, the Lazarus anime staff also includes Akemi Hayashi as the character designer, Chad Stahelski as an action supervisor, and Masato Matsunaga as an animation producer. The music will be composed by Bonobo, Kamasi Washington and Floating Points. You can see the voice cast below:

Adult Swim describes the story:
The year is 2052 – an era of unprecedented peace and prosperity prevails across the globe. The reason for this: mankind has been freed from sickness and pain. Nobel Prize-winning neuroscientist Dr. Skinner has developed a miracle cure-all drug with no apparent drawbacks called Hapuna. Hapuna soon becomes ubiquitous… and essential. However, soon after Hapuna is officially introduced, Dr. Skinner vanishes.
Three years later, the world has moved on. But Dr. Skinner has returned – this time, as a harbinger of doom. Skinner announces that Hapuna has a short half-life. Everyone who has taken it will die approximately three years later. Death is coming for this sinful world – and coming soon.
As a response to this threat, a special task force of 5 agents is gathered from across the world to save humanity from Skinner’s plan. This group is called “Lazarus.” Can they find Skinner and develop a vaccine before time runs out?
