Masamune-kun’s Revenge is getting a season 2, titled Masamune-kun’s Revenge R. An announcement trailer was also revealed, and you can watch it below:
Ayaka Ohashi and Natsuki Hanae will be reprising their roles as the main characters, Aki Adagaki and Masamune Makabe. Saori Hayami (Kojuurou Shuri), Inori Minase (Yoshino Koiwai), Suzuko Mimori (Neko Fujinomiya), and Azusa Tadokoro (Tae Futaba) are also returning to the show.

Masamune -kun’s Revenge anime aired in the Winter 2017 anime season, and it had a total of 12 episodes. An OVA was also released in July 2018. Studio Silver Link (Strike the Blood) animated the series, while Mirai Minato (Dungeon of the Black Company) directed it.
The anime is based on Hazuki Takeoka’s Masamune-kun no Revenge manga series. Ichijinsha started serializing it in October 2012 and ended in June 2018. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga series in English and describes the plot as:
As an overweight child, Makabe Masamune was mercilessly teased and bullied by one particular girl, Adagaki Aki. Determined to one day exact his revenge upon her, Makabe begins a rigorous regimen of self-improvement and personal transformation.
Years later, Masamune reemerges as a new man. Handsome, popular, with perfect grades and good at sports, Masamune-kun transfers to Aki’s school, and is unrecognizable to her. Now, Masamune-kun is ready to confront the girl who bullied him so many years ago and humiliate her at last. But will revenge be as sweet as he thought?
