Megan Shipman, the English dub voice actor for Anya in SPY x FAMILY, has taken to X (formerly known as Twitter) to announce the birth of her first child, a baby girl.
Megan is best-known for her roles as Anya in SPY x FAMILY, La Brava in My Hero Academia, Yuzuru Yamai in Date-a-Live and Maple in BOFURI, among others. She has also worked behind the scenes as an Assistant ADR Director on episodes of Fire Force, Fairy Tail, and No Guns Life.
The SPY x FAMILY English X account announced that Megan will be temporarily stepping down from her dubbing role as Anya to enjoy motherhood and that she will be replaced by Bryn Apprill, whose recent work includes Krista Lenz in Attack on Titan, Sachi Umino in A Couple of Cuckoos, Yotsuba Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets, and her own role in SPY x FAMILY as Fiona Frost.
Megan is also voicing a number of other characters in the Fall 2023 Season of Anime, including Rika in Girlfriend, Girlfriend, and Beatrice in The Ancient Magus’ Bride; it’s unknown how these roles will be handled at this time. The voice actress has been vocal about her pregnancy online, including the tragic loss of a child mid-pregnancy in 2022, seeking to remove the judgment and stigma of miscarriage.
